David grew up in Georgia, in a Korean immigrant home, attending church and learning stories about God. In his college years at the University of Texas, David’s faith grew as God deepened his understanding of the Gospel and the doctrine of grace. After college David spent some time teaching overseas and back in Georgia, then matriculated to Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Through over twenty years of pastoral ministry, further studies (Th.M. and now Ph.D. ongoing), overseas trips, and various teaching roles, David has enjoyed serving in ministries and raising up leaders. With a multicultural background and experiences, he is eager to see how God is expanding opportunities for Gospel multiplication in new areas, particularly in Asia. He looks forward to building on existing partnerships and developing new ones with ELI.

David and his wife Sonia continue to live in Georgia along with their two very active teenagers.
