Mark and Linda grew up in New Zealand; Mark in a nominal Christian home, and Linda in a Christian home. Both gave their lives to Christ at young ages and were married in 1977. We moved to San Francisco in 1987 for Mark to do Medical Research, and then to the UK, where Mark did research and taught at Cambridge University.

While in Cambridge, Mark did a New Testament course taught by D.A. Carson, and an Old Testament course taught by Philip Johnston. We began our interest in serving overseas during our days in Cambridge.

In 1995 we moved back to the USA, where Mark held a faculty position at Washington University Medical School. Mark was ordained as an elder in the PCA in 1999, and has served on multiple short-term mission teams in four continents. Linda was a stay-at-home Mom, being highly involved in raising our three boys in the instruction and discipline of the Lord; all three are walking with the Lord.

In semi-retirement, we are both active in our local church. Additionally, the Lord has called Mark to a teaching ministry in Latin America and Africa.

Mark hopes to teach biblical and theological studies in Latin America as part of the mission of ELI to raise up the next generation of church leaders and pastors. He also hopes to teach young people in multiple countries in East Africa. Linda is an invaluable support in the organization and administration of the travel and materials for this work.
