Mitch grew up as a missionary kid with parents serving in East Africa. While in college, he was privileged to be mentored by several faithful men and became immersed in the reformation doctrines of grace. Sensing a call to ministry in the USA, he has been an elder in the PCA for over 20 years, with a particular call to adult education and discipleship.
Mitch and Julie met while pursuing professional careers; Mitch as an I.T. consultant and Julie as a dietitian. In her early twenties, Julie had done some short-term mission work and language training in Latin America. This shared background in missions and love of divergent cultures helped build the groundwork for a family vision based on hospitality and gospel-driven discipleship. Now empty-nesters, Mitch and Julie have recently moved to Florida to be close to Mitch’s parents. This became the impetus for a new call to ministry – one that leads them both back to their love of international cultures and mission. Our passion is to see people of all nations encounter the love of Christ through hospitality; encountering Jesus in the joy and hope that only the Gospel brings.
Our Role
Mitch serves as a volunteer Adjunct faculty, with a focus on Latin America. Together we hope to bring our professional and theological skills to the ministry of ELI. Our dream is to see pastoral and professional leadership development along with nurturing health and family in any field we are called to serve.
