Rev. George and Vicki Granberry

Instructor

George was born in Grenada, MS and grew up in the Kansas City area. He also lived in Memphis, and the Chicago area. He was born a covenant child, was baptized as such, and grew up going to church in both Northern and Southern Presbyterian churches.

Vicki was born and raised in Wichita, KS to a Christian family. She was actively involved in a traveling/singing/evangelistic youth group called All God’s Children. She was able to travel to Australia.

George trusted in Christ as a junior in High School. In college, he had a new and growing sense that he wanted to serve Jesus, but had no idea what that meant or required; but God was working in his heart.

George met Vicki while both were attending Kansas State University, and they shared and dreamed of a future ministry together. They were married August 6, 1977. George attended Denver Seminary, where he earned his M.Div. and pastored in Longmont, CO; Branson, MO; and Wichita, KS.

In 1993 George had the privilege of planting and pastoring Heartland Community Church in Wichita, KS. He remained the senior pastor there until December 2020.

George is ordained in the PCA and has 40+ years of ministry experience. His passion is preaching and teaching the Word, missions, discipleship and pastoral ministry. He is excited to have contributed to the spiritual formation and growth of pastors and churches, both in the United States to the Navajo, in inner city ministries, and around the world, having participated in and led international missions trips to Bulgaria, Trinidad, Costa Rica and Uganda.

Due to ongoing physical limitations from cancer, he is unable to travel internationally, but is excited to be able to participate as an instructor by means of Zoom and other technologies. ELI has been a blessing to meet his desires in ministry, and he looks forward to helping pastors grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. He currently focuses on East Africa, but has also taught in West Africa and India.
George enjoys woodworking and being out in God’s creation in wilderness backpacking and canoeing.

George and his wife, Vicki, have two children, 6 grandchildren, and a labradoodle named Bear. They live in Rossville, GA.
